A new map showing the distributions of the infections and the illegal minor invaders is making the relationship much clearer. Enterovirus D68 has killed five U.S. children and infected hundreds more in the past month and a half, doctors confirm, and some believe there may be a connection between the sudden outbreak and the throngs of unaccompanied, illegal-alien children now being housed across the country. Schlafly said the government should screen immigrants for disease before they enter the country, as was done at Ellis Island a hundred years ago. “That was the purpose of Ellis Island – to have a waiting place where it was decided whether people were healthy enough or responsible enough to come into our country,” she said. “The idea that anybody can just walk in and carry this disease with them is just an outrage, and it is Obama’s fault because he’s responsible for doing it.” In her new book, Schlafly wrote about Antonio Gramsci, the Italian communist who developed a strategy in the early 1900s to overthrow Western society from within. Gramsci’s idea was to attack the foundations of Western society, including patriotism, national unity, tradition, language and the rule of law.

More than 100,000 illegals have come from Central America to the U.S. border, mostly children who have traveled thousands of miles from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. But it's not only children coming north. Kelly said that last year, his task force was not able to act on almost 75 percent of illegal trafficking incidents. "Last year, we had to cancel more than 200 very effective engagement activities and numerous multilateral exercises," Kelly told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in March, his command's website reports. "I simply sit and watch it go by. And because of service cuts, I don't expect to get any immediate relief, in terms of assets, to work with in this region of the world.” Kelly told Defense One that the area has turned into a "crime-terror convergence," that is only becoming worse. "All this corruption and violence is directly or indirectly due to the insatiable U.S. demand for drugs, particularly cocaine, heroin and now methamphetamines,” Kelly told Defense One, "all of which are produced in Latin America and smuggled into the U.S. along an incredibly efficient network along which anything — hundreds of tons of drugs, people, terrorists, potentially weapons of mass destruction or children — can travel, so long as they can pay the fare." Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez, D-N.J., pointed out in June that Kelly's SOUTHCOM forces are only sourced at "five percent of the capacity" they need. "This is a humanitarian and refugee crisis. It’s being caused in large measure by thousands in Central America who believe it is better to run for their lives and risk dying, than stay and die for sure,” Menendez said. "The bottom line is that we must attack this problem from a foreign policy perspective, a humanitarian perspective, a criminal perspective, immigration perspective, and a national security perspective.” Kelly said that the United States needs the military more now than ever to protect its border. "This region does not ask for much," said Kelly. "Some of my counterparts perceive that the United States is disengaging from the region and from the world in general. We should remember that our friends and allies are not the only ones watching our actions closely, and in the meantime, drug traffickers, criminal networks, and other actors, unburdened by budget cuts, cancelled activities, and employee furloughs, will have the opportunity to exploit the partnership vacuum left by reduced U.S. military engagement."
The irony of these children being sent to Chicago, arguably the most violent city in America, where gang violence runs rampant, where fatherless children roam the streets with little hope of finding a job or a future, apparently escapes President Obama as he vacations on Martha's Vineyard. Unlike the children of Central America, arriving en masse, the children of Chicago, facing conditions every bit as horrible, have no border to cross to seek asylum or refuge. It hasn't escaped notice of the residents of Obama's hometown who gathered Friday to protest the president's $3.7 billion request to help Central American children escape violence while they see little being done to end the violence in which 120 people have been shot and 26 killed so far this month. They condemned President Obama for paying more attention to illegal aliens crossing our southern border than to the children of his hometown. "Do something for our children," said one of the protesters in a video posted at the blog Rebel Pundit. Another man addressing the rally said, "With the president setting aside all of these funds for immigrants, and forsaking the African-American community and African-American families, I think that's a disgrace." Despite the strictest gun regulations in the country, Chicago's murder rate of 15.65 per 100,000 people looks nothing like the nation's 4.2, the Midwest's 4.5 or Illinois' 5.6. Up to 80% of Chicago's murders and shootings are gang related, according to police. By one estimate, the city has 68,000 gang members, four times the number of cops. And President Obama is concerned with Central American violence? To many Chicago residents, their streets are equally violent, fearful and devoid of hope. There is no Dream Act for them, only the leftover paternalism of the Great Society that has destroyed the black family and the big city socialism that has killed growth and opportunity. The net result is a culture of dependency in communities beset by illegitimacy, poverty, crime and joblessness. May we be so cynical as to suggest that in the political calculations of President Obama and the Democrats the black vote is taken for granted but the Hispanic vote is still in play? America is beginning to see through the thick veil of disinformation designed to conceal the secret intelligence weapon of mass immigration under a mask of humanitarianism. “This is not a humanitarian crisis,” stated the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers. “It is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans.” Two congressmen avowed that the flooding of America’s Southern borders with illegal-alien children might derive from a secret strategy to transform the U.S. into a socialist state. In my other life, the KGB community was deeply involved in spreading anti-Americanism in South America, whose map has now become mostly red. KGB advisers and Russian military ships and bombers are back in Cuba – and newly in Venezuela – for the first time since the Cuban missile crisis. Nicaragua, Honduras and Argentina are shepherded into the Russian fold. Brazil, the world’s 10th largest economy, had even installed a former KGB-inspired guerrilla fighter, Dilma Rousseff, as the country’s president. All these things give me strong reason to suspect a KGB hand behind the current sudden mass immigration of children from South America being dropped at our Southern borders. During those years of my other life, the KGB community was busily spreading terrorism in South America, Western Europe and the Middle East with the help of mass immigration. The current mass immigration of ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria furthermore suggests that today’s Russia – now run by the intelligence apparatus – is successfully using the secret KGB weapon of mass immigration in that part of the world as well. I have strong reason to believe that a comprehensive policy for dealing with Russia, which is building a new anti-American axis, Moscow-Tehran-Beijing-Caracas, and the largest oil cartel in history, is a lot more important right now than granting citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants who have invaded our country. Becoming a citizen of this great country is, in my humble view, an honor, not an entitlement. But have them follow the American traditions and laws that made this country a beacon for the whole world.
When the weapons hunters failed to find stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, so began one of the greatest slanders on a president in history: "Bush lied, people died." Never mind that President George W. Bush, in building the case for war, relied on the unanimous opinion of all 16 intelligence agencies. Never mind that the bipartisan Robb-Silberman commission examined the intelligence on which Bush relied, and unanimously found that "the Intelligence Community did not make or change any analytic judgments in response to political pressure. " ... We conclude that it was the paucity of intelligence and poor analytical tradecraft, rather than political pressure, that produced the inaccurate pre-war intelligence assessments."
Never mind that Bush retained the same CIA director, George Tenet, who served under Bill Clinton. Tenet gave Bush the same intelligence assessment: that Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, possessed WMD is a "slam dunk." Indeed, according to the Washington Post's Bob Woodward, Bush was initially skeptical. When, on Dec. 21, 2002, Tenet presented the intelligence that purportedly showed the existence of WMD stockpiles, Bush said, "This is the best we've got?" Never mind that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, then a New York senator, was particularly adamant about the threat posed by Hussein: "In the four years since the inspectors left," she said, "intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical- and biological-weapons stock, his missile-delivery capability and his nuclear program. ... If left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Finally, never mind about then-President Bill Clinton's Persian Gulf expert on the National Security Council, Kenneth Pollack. While he opposed the war's timing, Pollack said "no one doubted" Saddam's stockpiles of WMD:
"The intelligence community convinced me and the rest of the Clinton administration that Saddam had reconstituted his WMD programs following the withdrawal of the U.N. inspectors, in 1998, and was only a matter of years away from having a nuclear weapon. ... Other nations' intelligence services were similarly aligned with U.S. views. ... Germany ... Israel, Russia, Britain, China and even France held positions similar to that of the United States. ... In sum, no one doubted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction." "Bush lied, people died" — or some version of it — was uttered at the highest levels in the opposition party.
If Bush is a "liar," having relied in good faith on U.S. intelligence agencies to protect & defend Americans, what do you call President Obama? (Fast & Furious, Benghazi, NSA, IRS, Justice Dept, Obamacare Scandals et al.) In building the case for ObamaCare, Obama promised: "No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what." Did Obama "lie"? Obama's health care team, according to NBC News, knew that more than half of the people who buy their plans on the individual market would lose their plan: "Millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under ObamaCare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years."
NBC News' sources estimated that 50% to 80% of Americans who buy individual insurance will find their policies canceled, because those existing policies don't meet ObamaCare standards. And for many of those — now forced to buy new policies — the price tag will give them "sticker shock." The Affordable Care Act stated that an insurance policy in effect before March 23, 2010, was to be grandfathered in — provided insurance companies have made no "significant change" to the plan.
But if the plan, say, had a change to the deductible, co-pay or benefits, the plan was no longer eligible to be grandfathered, and the policyholder would have to purchase a new plan. ObamaCare's July 2010 regulations included an estimate that "40% to 67%" of customers wouldn't be able to keep their policy because of normal annual turnover in the individual insurance market. And, because many policies will have been changed since the March 23, 2010, date, "the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40% to 67% range." Yet Obama continued to tell Americans that no one would lose his or her plan or doctor, a promise without which ObamaCare would never have passed. For his part, Obama now says: "What we said was, you can keep it if it hasn't changed since the law passed." A lie is an untruth told with intent to deceive.

As though that's something to be proud of? That is a legitimate excuse? The president didn't know that the NSA was spying on foreign leaders, and you want us to give him a pass because he's that out of touch and detached that he didn't know, when the fact of the matter is they're lying to us again. BS, he didn't know. How stupid do they think we are? Obama doesn't know anything about Benghazi. He doesn't know anything about Fast and Furious. He didn't know anything about Syria. In a courtroom exchange that took place Friday, Feb. 3, with Department of Justice lawyer Michelle Bennett, federal Judge James L. Robart, asked, “How many arrests have there been of foreign nationals from those seven countries since 9/11”?
“I don’t know the specific details of attacks or planned attacks,” said Bennett, who is from the Department of Justice’s Civil Division. “The answer to that is none, as best I can tell,” said the judge. Particular individuals or groups can be given many things, to which politicians say they are “entitled,” only if other people are forced by the government to provide those things to people who don’t need to lift a finger to earn them. All the fancy talk about “entitlement” means simply forcing some people to work to produce things for other people, who have no obligation to work. It gets worse. If we are all “entitled” to things, irrespective of whether we produce anything ourselves, then the question becomes: Why are some people getting so much more than others? People who are producing nothing can feel a sense of grievance against those who are producing much, and being rewarded for it, if our basis for receiving economic benefits is supposed to be what we are all “entitled” to, rather than what we have worked to earn. One of the most misleading uses of the notion of entitlement is to say that people who paid into Social Security for years are now entitled to the pensions they receive. Really? It so happens that I have put money into the same bank account for more than 20 years. But if I were to write a check for a million dollars today, it would bounce! The question is not how long you have been putting money in, but how much money you put in. If what you have been putting into Social Security over the years is enough to pay you a $1,500 a month pension, but you were promised a $3,000 a month pension, how much are you entitled to? On what basis? We can be both realistic enough, and decent enough, to rescue older people who have been victimized by political fantasies. We can pay higher taxes temporarily to rescue them. But, there is no reason to bankrupt the country by keeping the fraud going forever. Younger people can be allowed to opt out and arrange their own pension plans in the private sector, where the kind of irresponsible pyramid schemes that politicians set up are illegal. But we don’t need to ruin the whole economy, in order to preserve the illusions created by toxic words like “entitlement.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control's first comprehensive report on the subject, the number of people who identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual is actually less than three percent. That's probably a surprise to most people, who just assumed our LGBT policies, movies, school curriculums, and corporate partnerships were driven by a big population. While judges strike down marriage laws approved by millions of voters and businesses consider sweeping policies to accommodate this tiny fringe, the reality is that the only thing big about this demographic is its political influence. Although the homosexual community may not be the largest, it's certainly the loudest -- a fact evidenced by this administration's six-year, LGBT-centric priorities. From reinventing the U.S. military to redefining diplomacy, President Obama has put the demands of this 3% before the entire nation and its interests.
It should be noted that a recent government survey found that only 1.6% of the population identify as homosexual.
The government study found that only 1.6% self-identify as homosexual (gay or lesbian), while 0.7% of those surveyed consider themselves “bisexual, and 1.1% of adults identified as “something else.” According to the study, 96.6% of American adults considered themselves “straight.”
First, it is sexual promiscuity that causes STDs, not homophobia. Second, there is more promiscuity among gays than straights. Third, men who have sex with men (MSM) have the highest rate of STDs, to the point that the CDC reported in 2010 (and beyond) that, “Gay Men’s HIV Rate 44 Times that of Other Men; Syphilis Rate 46 Times Higher.” Tragically, these numbers remain extremely high, and even a 2015 CDC report that is quite sympathetic to the gay community states that, “Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (collectively referred to as MSM) are at increased risk for STDs, including antimicrobial resistant gonorrhea, when compared to women and exclusively heterosexual men.” Could it be that God did not design our bodies for promiscuity or homosexual acts? If we want to reduce STDs – among heterosexuals as well as homosexuals – that’s the place where we need to focus.
IRS-GATE: In 1974, then-special prosecutor Leon Jaworski issued a subpoena for the infamous White House tapes. Those tapes were the critical bit of evidence that might prove Richard Nixon was involved in the Watergate scandal and cover-up. Nixon refused, claiming an absolute executive privilege against judicial proceedings. It led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling, U.S. v. Nixon, which compelled the President to turn over the tapes. On one tape, eighteen minutes were missing — the White House claimed that Nixon’s secretary Rose Mary Woods accidentally deleted it. We’ll never learn what was contained. But fifteen days later, facing an imminent impeachment, Nixon resigned. Today, there is another instance of the executive branch withholding key information from a potential criminal investigation, this time supposedly losing over two years of Lois Lerner emails relevant to continued Congressional investigations of the agency targeting of tea party and other 501(c)(4) non-profit groups. The missing emails cover the critical inception of the targeting, dating from January 2009 to April 2011, when a supposed computer crash led to the data loss. Now, the New York Times reports that, additionally, “because of financial and computing constraints, some emails had been stored only on individuals’ computers and not on servers, and that ‘backup tapes’ from 2011 ‘no longer exist because they have been recycled..” This, despite the fact, as Americans for Limited Government President Nathan Mehrens, a former official at the Labor Department, notes, “every federal government agency operates under recordkeeping requirements that mandate the agency preserve records that contain proper documentation of the functions, policies, and decisions made by the agency and its officials.” Mehrens added, “It would take a massive, concerted cover up in order to delete those emails.” Cleta Mitchell, a counsel representing True the Vote (TTV), a non-profit that was targeted, wrote in a letter to Justice Department attorneys representing the IRS in pending federal litigation that “several statutes and regulations require that the records be accessible by the Committees, and, in turn, must be preserved and made available to TTV in the event of discovery in the pending litigation. Those statutes include the Federal Records Act, Internal Revenue Manual section 184.108.40.206 (which refers to the IRS’s preservation of electronic mail messages), IRS Document 12829 (General Records Schedule 23, Records Common to Most Offices, Item 5 Schedule of Daily Activities), 36 C.F.R. 1230 (reporting accidental destruction,) and 36 CFR 1222.12. GOD’s CLIMATE CHANGE: Iceland raised its aviation alert to red Saturday as a subglacial eruption began at the restless Bardarbunga volcano, which has been rattled by thousands of earthquakes in the past week, the country's Meteorological Office said. Seismic data indicated that lava from the volcano was melting ice beneath the Vatnajokull glacier, Iceland's largest, Met Office vulcanologist Melissa Pfeffer said. The eruption led Iceland to raise its aviation alert level to red, indicating an eruption that could cause "significant emission of ash into the atmosphere." Red is the highest alert warning on a five-point scale. Scientists were also monitoring a hydrological station downstream from the volcano for flooding — a common result of volcanic eruptions in Iceland. Iceland sits on a volcanic hot spot in the Atlantic's mid-oceanic ridge and eruptions occur frequently, triggered when the Earth's plates move and when magma from deep underground pushes its way to the surface. A 2010 eruption of Iceland's Eyjafjallajokul volcano produced an ash cloud that caused a week of international aviation chaos, with more than 100,000 flights cancelled. Aviation regulators since have reformed policies about flying through ash, so a new eruption would be unlikely to cause that much disruption. "The thicker the ice, the more water there is, the more explosive it will be and the more ash-rich the eruption will be," she said.

The Northwest Ordinance, adopted July 13, 1787, by the Second Continental Congress, chartered a government for the Northwest Territory, provided a method for admitting new states to the Union from the territory, and listed a bill of rights guaranteed in the territory. Following the principles outlined by Thomas Jefferson in the Ordinance of 1784, the authors of the Northwest Ordinance (probably Nathan Dane and Rufus King) spelled out a plan that was subsequently used as the country expanded to the Pacific. The following three principal provisions were ordained in the document: (1) a division of the Northwest Territory into "not less than three nor more than five States"; (2) a three-stage method for admitting a new state to the Union—with a congressionally appointed governor, secretary, and three judges to rule in the first phase; an elected assembly and one nonvoting delegate to Congress to be elected in the second phase, when the population of the territory reached "five thousand free male inhabitants of full age"; and a state constitution to be drafted and membership to the Union to be requested in the third phase when the population reached 60,000; and (3) a bill of rights protecting religious freedom, the right to a writ of habeas corpus, the benefit of trial by jury, and other individual rights. For protozoa-to-person evolution to have worked over time, purely natural factors must have conceived, constructed, integrated, and implemented new proteins into old organisms. Brave researchers—already convinced that this somehow occurred—have been investigating this core issue, but their recent discovery refutes their own perspective. If evolution works at all, it must work at the tiniest levels of life: proteins. Joe Thornton’s lab, the Institute of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Oregon, has been investigating this most fundamental aspect of evolution using quality experimental science instead of speculative stories like the ones Charles Darwin told. In 2009, Thornton’s group ruled out evolution in reverse, discovering that once a protein supposedly arrives, no natural processes can morph it back to a prior version.1 Converting a Toyota Corolla into an already similar sedan, like a Hyundai Elantra, seems simple enough as long as we’re just telling general stories. Just swap one part out at a time, right? But the details show why it’s an impractical idea. Incompatible parts simply won’t fit. For example, the Corolla wheels have holes for four lug nuts, but the Elantra’s wheels have five. The new Elantra wheel will not fit—and trying to use it would leave the “evolving” Corolla unfit for driving during the entire time it “waits” for a Corolla axle to develop a five-lug nut option. The problem is that the car must remain completely drive-able all throughout this hypothetical evolution.
Even with all other parts well-fitted and functioning fine, a car that needs four wheels to operate but only has three goes nowhere, illustrating why simply changing one protein can render an organism useless—even with other proteins working perfectly. The whole cell must remain functional while evolution upgrades one old protein at a time. The whole process is not practical at all. When Thornton’s group discovered that downgrading proteins to a supposedly older version would never work, they should have been convinced that evolution could never have upgraded to the current protein in the first place. Biochemist Michael Behe, who was not involved in the study, wrote for Evolution News, “To the extent that a pre-existing system had to pass through improbable, unselected, or even detrimental states—unguided by natural selection or any other unintelligent factor—to reach a rare new function, then to that extent we can say Darwinian evolution does not explain life.”3 And if Darwinian evolution does not explain as small a step as evolving a new version of a single protein, then why would anyone expect it to explain the evolution of all the new proteins required to transform a protozoan into a person?

Writing in the Washington Post, Harvard astronomer Howard Smith, an observant Jew forcefully blunts Stephen Hawking’s assertion that “The human race is just a chemical scum on a moderate-sized planet.” Of course, it’s not only Dr. Hawking who says as much — denying human exceptionalism is close to universal orthodoxy among the socio-academic demographic he occupies. Carl Sagan put the same view a little more mildly: “We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star.” Smith points out, however, that science considered objectively is much closer to the exceptionalist conclusion. In truth, humanity is something momentous in the cosmos. Weighing these assertions by Hawking and Sagan, Smith writes: An objective look…at just two of the most dramatic discoveries of astronomy — big bang cosmology and planets around other stars (exoplanets) — suggests the opposite. We seem to be cosmically special, perhaps even unique — at least as far as we are likely to know for eons. The first result — the anthropic principle — has been accepted by physicists for 43 years. The universe, far from being a collection of random accidents, appears to be stupendously perfect and fine-tuned for life. The strengths of the four forces that operate in the universe — gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear interactions (the latter two dominate only at the level of atoms) — for example, have values critically suited for life, and were they even a few percent different, we would not be here. Dr. Smith concludes on a hortatory note: It seems we might even serve some cosmic role. So this season let us be grateful for the amazing gifts of life and awareness, and acknowledge the compelling evidence to date that humanity and our home planet, Earth, are rare and cosmically precious. And may we act accordingly.
